Davis & Floyd’s Jason Eppley Elected Secretary/Treasurer of the American Council of Engineering Companies of South Carolina

Davis & Floyd, Inc. is pleased to announce that Jason Eppley, PE, chief operating officer, has been named secretary/treasurer of the American Council of Engineering Companies of South Carolina (ACEC-SC) for the 2018-2019 term. Officers were elected during the organization’s annual meeting in Myrtle Beach, SC. Eppley has served on the ACEC-SC board of directors since 2017 and is a graduate of their Future Leaders Program Class of 2012.

As chief operating officer at Davis & Floyd, Eppley is responsible for the overall daily business operations of the firm. He is a professional engineer with over 20 years of experience in the field of structural design and multi-discipline project management. He received his Master of Engineering in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural and Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Clemson University.

In addition to ACEC, Eppley is affiliated with the American Concrete Institute, American Institute of Steel Construction, American Society of Civil Engineers, and Society of American Military Engineers.

Davis & Floyd’s Mark Warner Named President of South Carolina Economic Developers’ Association

Davis & Floyd, Inc. is pleased to announce that Mark Warner, SCCED, vice president of business development and marketing, has been elected president of the South Carolina Economic Developers’ Association (SCEDA) for the 2018-2019 term. Officers and board members were selected during the organization’s annual conference on Hilton Head Island, SC.

Warner has served on the SCEDA board of directors since 2013. Recent offices held were vice president 2017-2018, treasurer 2016-2017, secretary 2015-2016, and director 2013-2015. He also served as co-chairman of the legislative committee. Warner has been a member of SCEDA since 2007. He joined Davis & Floyd in 2013 following a 6-year career with the Greenwood Partnership Alliance. During this time, he served as director of workforce development and existing industry, and ultimately as chief executive officer. While serving the Greenwood Partnership Alliance, Warner achieved his South Carolina Certified Economic Developer (SCCED) designation. He has more than 25 years of experience in organization management within the manufacturing and economic development sectors.

Davis & Floyd’s Ryne Phillips Receives Professional Engineer License

Davis & Floyd, Inc. is pleased to announce that Ryne Phillips received his Professional Engineer (PE) license through the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors. According to the National Society of Professional Engineers, PE licensure is the engineering profession’s highest standard of competence, a symbol of achievement and assurance of quality.

“We are proud that Ryne completed the multiple steps necessary to earn this designation,” said Stephen Davis, president and CEO of Davis & Floyd. “He joins our other 50 PEs at Davis & Floyd who work with our clients to develop solutions for their specific project needs.”

Phillips specializes in water resources engineering. His experience includes ecosystem restoration, flood hazard mapping and analysis, bridge and culvert hydraulics and scour analysis, flood frequency analysis, open/closed stormwater conveyance system design and analysis, water distribution networks, pump hydraulics, hydraulic transients, process engineering, GIS program and model development, and irrigation design and assessment.

Phillips joined Davis & Floyd in 2016. He received his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Mechanization & Business and Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a Concentration in Water Resources from Clemson University.

Davis & Floyd, Inc. is pleased to announce that Chris Haynes, PLA has been selected as one of Charleston Regional Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 honorees. He will be recognized at an awards ceremony on May 17 in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

Based in Davis & Floyd’s Charleston office, Haynes is the private development market sector leader and senior landscape architect for the firm. He is a licensed landscape architect, certified arborist, and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Associate. Haynes is an active member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, Urban Land Institute, S.C. Economic Developers’ Association, and Charleston Young Professionals. He is a current participant in the American Council of Engineering Companies of South Carolina Future Leaders program.

Davis & Floyd’s Ryan Hertzfeld Earns Professional Landscape Architect Certification

Davis & Floyd, Inc. announced today that Ryan Hertzfeld recently earned his Professional Landscape Architect (PLA) certification. This certification is regulated by the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA).

The certification process includes obtaining an undergraduate degree in Landscape Architecture, a four-part rigorous licensing exam, and an apprenticeship. Once earned, South Carolina state law requires licensees to complete continuing education hours in order to maintain their license.

“We are proud of Ryan for completing the process and earning his PLA certification,” said Stephen Davis, president and CEO of Davis & Floyd. “Ryan is focused on the visual communications side of landscape architecture. He works closely with our team to incorporate cutting-edge technology using 3D VR modeling to help convey designs to clients. We are excited to continue bringing the latest in technology to our clients.”

Hertzfeld’s design and planning experience includes master planning for industrial, commercial, and residential developments. He is involved in all aspects of the process including client communication and coordination; site analysis and inventory; conceptual design; hardscape; planting plans; furnishing and lighting layouts; presentation graphics; and construction drawings and details. His strong graphic skills include hand and digital renderings as well as 3D modeling. He also has experience with construction management and subcontractor coordination.

Hertzfeld joined Davis & Floyd in 2015. He received his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from Clemson University in 2008.
