A Wonderful Evening in Habersham
Davis & Floyd had a wonderful evening with ULI SC and the Habersham Land Company last week for a panel discussion and walking tour of this one-of-a-kind coastal community.
Named one of the “Best Places to Live on the Coast,” by Coastal Living Magazine, the master-planned community offers a traditional neighborhood setting with classic Southern architectural charm. Davis & Floyd has been an integral part of Habersham’s evolution from the very beginning, providing implementation of the master-planning and engineering support for multiple phases of development.
The evening, hosted by the Habersham Land Company, included a panel moderated by Davis & Floyd President & CEO Stephen Davis, who has managed private development projects including Habersham, where he also served as the project engineer and spent years living in the area as well. The panel discussed the site’s characteristics, the area’s architecture, and early years of development in Habersham. Attendees also had the opportunity to learn about the site layout through a scenic walking tour of the neighborhood. The event welcomed folks from the nearby areas of Savannah, Charleston, Hilton Head, and Bluffton, giving more distant neighbors the opportunity to learn about ULI’s practices together, as well as chat and enjoy the lovely night.
“We had a great evening at Habersham. We were able to really take in the best aspects of the neighborhood: the beauty and inviting feeling of a coastal Southern neighborhood. It was great to meet the rest of the development team and learn more about what it took to turn this raw piece of land into an award-winning community,” said Katherine Hendricks, local government market sector leader at Davis & Floyd.
Davis & Floyd is very excited to be an active member in the development of the unique Habersham community, and we cannot wait to be a part of the new phase of expansion for Habersham at Cherokee Farms.
