Four Davis & Floyd Employees Named to the American Council of Engineering Companies of South Carolina Subcommittees
Davis & Floyd is pleased to announce that Bryan D. Webb, G. Tilley Bull, Brian L. Taylor, and J. Mike Simpson, Jr. have been named to subcommittees of the American Council of Engineering Companies of South Carolina (ACEC-SC). ACEC-SC is the only state organization devoted exclusively to the business and advocacy interests of engineering companies of SC, and is comprised of member firms committed to the professional practice of engineering.
Webb will serve a two-year term with ACEC-SC’s Transportation Subcommittee, which serves as a liaison between the association, the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), and other public agencies dealing with roadway and transportation related issues. Webb is a vice president at Davis & Floyd, part of the firm’s transportation sector team, and a graduate of SCDOT’s Strategic Training for Transportation Agency Representatives program. He is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers, where he previously served as president for the South Carolina section. He received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Clemson University and currently serves as treasurer for the Charleston Civil Engineering Club.
Bull will serve a two-year term with ACEC-SC’s Roadway Design Subcommittee, which works with the roadway design support engineers at SCDOT on engineering industry issues and concerns. He serves as a vice president for transportation engineering for Davis & Floyd. Bull previously worked for SCDOT in both roadway design and construction inspection. He received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Clemson University.
Taylor will serve a two-year term with ACEC-SC’s Environmental Subcommittee and is the 2017 committee chair. The role of the committee is to facilitate cooperation and communication between SCDOT’s Environmental Services Office and environmental professionals within the ACEC member firms with the goal of improving processes, documents, and permits for SCDOT transportation projects. Taylor is a senior environmental planner for Davis & Floyd and has more than 18 years of experience, including working for SCDOT. He received his bachelor’s degree in economics from University of South Carolina.
Simpson will serve a two-year term with ACEC-SC’s Construction Engineering & Inspection Subcommittee, which assists with any engineering and inspection related issues as they pertain to the association, SCDOT, and other public agency projects. He is an associate and construction engineering inspection leader for Davis & Floyd. He received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in construction from Clemson University and earned a graduate certificate in technical project management from The Citadel.
