The Clemson SCE&G Energy Innovation Center project was selected as the “Best of the Best” in the nation for the Industrial/Energy category, as well as the Editors’ Choice, by Engineering News-Record (ENR).
Each year, ENR selects the Best of the Best and Editors’ Choice Project winners using the following process as stated on ENR.com:
“Representatives from the construction industry selected the following Best of the Best Projects winners as the top examples of design and construction excellence among completed work in the U.S. between June 2013 and June 2014. First, independent panels of judges selected winners from more than 700 entries in 19 categories for each of ENR’s 10 regional editions. These top regional projects then moved on to the national competition, in which a different set of industry judges distinguished the Best of the Best in teamwork, safety, innovation, quality and success in overcoming challenges in the same 19 categories. While many projects had exemplary safety records, only one Excellence in Safety winner has been chosen by our panel of industry safety experts. Finally, ENR’s editorial staff has honored one standout project as Editors’ Choice. This year, for the first time, the winning project teams will be honored at an awards banquet in New York on April 17, in conjunction with ENR’s 50th Annual Award of Excellence Celebration.”
